Each lesson includes:

Expressive interpretation and musical style
Optional note-learning and accompaniment resources
Repertoire in classical, musical theatre, contemporary, or sacred styles
Students receive custom warm-ups, recorded exercises, and individualized feedback after each session to support home practice.
Piano Lessons
Piano lessons are designed for students of all ages, from first-time beginners to advancing pianists who want to improve technique, reading, and musical fluency. Online lessons combine demonstration, screen sharing, and guided practice strategies to ensure clear progress.
Students learn:
Proper hand position and technique
Note reading and rhythm accuracy
Ear training and sight-reading
Musical phrasing and expression
Classical, popular, and recital repertoire
Performance and practice strategies
Beginners thrive in a calm, encouraging environment, while more experienced pianists receive structured coaching that leads to polished artistry.
Music Theory
Music theory lessons are designed to help students grasp basic and intermediate concepts:
Note Recognition: staff lines and note values (whole, half, quarter, eighth, sixteenth notes).
Rhythm and Meter: understand rhythm patterns and counting in various time signatures.
Intervals: learn to identify the distance between notes, such as seconds, thirds, and fifths, which are crucial for melody and harmony.
Scales and Chords: major and minor scales, triads and seventh chords.
Harmony: understand how chords and chord progressions create harmony, including dissonant and consonant harmonies.
Notation: learn to read and write music notation, including the staff, clefs, and time signatures.
RCM Certificate Program
RCM Certificate Program
I highly recommend the RCM Royal Conservatory of Music Certificate Program for all of my students, ages 5 through adults, who want to set goals of musical achievement. I can prepare any of my students to participate in this even for both voice and piano if they are motivated and dedicated in preparing for this exam. I will prepare both the practical exam and the music theory section required for the certificate.
The RCM Certificate Program is flexible, students may be asynchronous with piano, voice and theory levels and test at the appropriate levels. All in-person exams are held in a professional music business location, but online examinations are offered as well and are a fantastic opportunity for students who prefer that medium.
In-person performance exams are offered live 3 times a year
Late summer months may have limited performance availability
Students can choose any location throughout the United States.
Live performance exams are offered throughout the year
Levels from Prep A through Advanced levels for college prep and Artistry levels for music teachers.
Students do not have to take performance exams and theory exams at the same time
Theory exams are also offered in an online format or in-person
Students receiving the very top score of First Class Honors with Distinction may be invited to perform in the Celebration of Excellence Recitals held typically at USC
