Studio Policies for Online Voice & Piano Lessons
These studio policies outline expectations for enrollment, attendance, and tuition at Raluca Marinescu Voice and Piano Studio. Policies are designed to support consistent progress and a respectful, productive learning environment for online voice and piano lessons.
Lesson Structure
All lessons are conducted online and scheduled at a fixed weekly day and time. This time is reserved exclusively for the student.
Lessons provide instruction, guidance, and coaching. Musical progress depends on consistent preparation and practice between lessons.
Practice Expectations
Regular, focused practice is essential for meaningful musical progress.
• Progress is determined by the student’s work between lessons, not by lesson attendance alone.
• Students are encouraged to practice 4–5 days per week, or as needed to complete weekly assignments.
• The quality of practice is more important than the quantity of time spent.
• Parental involvement and support play a key role in student success, especially for younger students.
Attendance, Cancellations & Rescheduling
• A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellations of scheduled lessons.
• Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed due to a no-show, are forfeited and not refunded.
• Each student may reschedule one (1) lesson per calendar month, non-accumulative, due to illness, family emergency, or school-related conflicts. Notification must be received before the scheduled lesson time.
• When a student is mildly ill, the scheduled lesson time will be used productively for music theory, musicianship skills, language and diction work, ear training, music reading, repertoire planning, or audition/exam preparation, as appropriate.
• Students who miss more than two lessons within a four-week period without proper notice may be subject to lesson discontinuation.
Tuition & Enrollment
Monthly tuition secures a reserved weekly lesson time and is not based on attendance. Missed or forfeited lessons do not result in tuition adjustments.
Tuition for the entire month is due on or before the first lesson of each month.
Monthly Tuition Rates
• 30-minute lesson: $50
• 45-minute lesson: $70
• 55-minute lesson: $90
Drop-In Advanced Vocal Coaching
• 55-minute session: $125
Drop-in sessions are subject to availability and intended for advanced students seeking focused coaching.
Holidays & Studio Breaks
The studio does not observe all national holidays. Lessons may be held on days when schools are closed.
The studio is always closed on:
• Martin Luther King Jr. Day
• President’s Day
• Memorial Day
• Independence Day (July 4)
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving / Black Friday week
• December 23 – January 3
Lessons falling on studio closure dates are not charged. Additional breaks may be announced in advance. The studio calendar is subject to change.
Discontinuation of Lessons
• A one-month written notice via email is required to discontinue lessons.
• Tuition for the final month must be paid in full, regardless of attendance.
• Failure to provide notice will result in the remaining month’s tuition being due.
• Exceptions may be made for unexpected relocation or serious medical emergencies.
Payment Methods
• Credit card and Zelle payments are preferred.
• PayPal is also accepted.
